From AR to AO to AI -let the network and application have permanent memory

In this interview, we are fortunate to invite Xiong Wei to have OutProg, which is well known by the web3 community on social media.Xiong Wei has deeply cultivated the decentralized storage protocol ARWEAVE (AR) ecology and has a very rich entrepreneurial experience.

He is the initiator of Permadao, the community of the Arweave ecological co -founder, and encourages more people to participate in the mission of eternal storage in the form of the most suitable form in the form of a community.

Okay, let me introduce myself first.I first worked in a bank and was responsible for OA systems, CRM systems, and some internal systems of banks, including accounting and financial processing, and knew the account processing inside financial internal accounts.In 2015, I entered the blockchain industry.At that time, I saw the huge potential of Bitcoin and Ethereum in terms of account processing, and believed that the blockchain had great potential as a ledger system.

When entering the blockchain ecology, the name I used was OutProg, which was taken when I was still working at the bank.Like many developers have an account on GitHub and use the code, OutProg is my developer code.The source of this name is that I want to be able to jump out of the program (Out of Program), not only purely looking at and understanding technology, but can think of business, market and other aspects.

At that time, I had no entrepreneurial, but I just worked as a developer in a bank and often communicated with business personnel to exchange business systems.I found that the procedures we developed are closely related. Sometimes the application business department developed by development is unwilling to use it at all, but it will increase their troubles.Therefore, my goal is to become a software architect, and I need to jump out of the program thinking to understand and meet business needs.

2.Now you are the vanguard of the AR ecology, and you have multiple identities in the ecology.I believe many new RPC members are curious about your entrepreneurial experience.Can you share with you your entrepreneurial experience, how is AR, AO, Permadao, and Evervision be connected together?

Okay, let me share my stories in various projects.

Enter web3

During the work of banking, I was mainly responsible for the development of financial systems and internal systems, including handling bank loans and debt business.This experience made me realize that the traditional financial system became very large and complicated due to human factors and various contracts and regulations.In particular, cross -border transfer of fiat currency needs to be treated with a series of lengthy and complicated institutions.Until I started to pay attention to Bitcoin.Because from the perspective of traditional developers, almost nothing is anti -censorship.However, in October 2017, I wrote the DEMO code of Bitcoin by myself and found that this de -trust system can solve the problem of trust between different departments and institutions in traditional financial systems.Bitcoin’s de -trust system allows ledger to achieve credibility between different institutions.This made me realize that this new system may subvert us to build a traditional financial system for thousands of years.As a result, since 2018, I have entered IMTOKEN and devoted themselves to the blockchain industry.During the IMTOKEN work, I developed the third and fourth editions of Dex Tokenlon, and learned the advantages and disadvantages of the blockchain.

I first met Arweave

At the end of 2018, I began to pay attention to the Uniswap and Compound protocols.These two protocols made me very excited because UNISWAP realized automatic market through a simple model, and Compound achieved bank deposits and borrowing functions on the chain.I wrote an article for these two agreements and shared my cognition from the outside.However, from 2018 to 2019, the entire blockchain ecology is very sluggish.During this time, I have been reflecting on the obstacles of the blockchain in large -scale applications. Its core problem is the threshold of performance and users’ notes and private keys.Many traditional fields of elites and talents cannot enter the blockchain field due to these thresholds.During IMTOKEN, I found that many traditional users cannot accept complex wallet operations, which also hinders the popularization of blockchain.By 2020, Defi Summer started.I participated in the technical Meetup organized by Etherfans and the Star Fire Mining Pond, and came into contact with the smart contract Smartweave on Arweave and its smart contract.Arweave, as a permanent storage blockchain, its smart contract model is very similar to Turing machines in computer science.This new model that separates computing and storage makes me see the possibility of new blockchain.After several months of research, I proposed a storage -based consensus paradigm (SCP).As long as the storage is not variable, no matter where the calculation end is calculated, the results can be guaranteed.After seeing this opportunity, and the market recovered, I left IMTOKEN in October 2020 and started my career career.

Everfinance

Then I met my partner. He was the developer of the Bitcoin ecosystem and the early supporters of Bitcoin.He is more free and always do what he likes.He and I have developed a payment agreement based on the ARWEAVE system. This agreement is our current product Everpay.At first, we just made this agreement because of interest and hobbies, and I felt very interesting, so we tried to do something.In March 2021, I wrote some comparison articles that introduced Everpay and Ethereum, Layer 2 and side chain technology in the year -old column.After that, some investment institutions found us, hoping to learn more about our project.In 2021, our brand was called Everfinance. The original intention was to hope that anyone can use decentralized financial services anywhere around the world.Everpay is a payment agreement developed by Everfinance. The use of Arweave has greatly reduced the cost of GAS, allowing global users to seamlessly use Everpay.In May 2021, we reached the first financing, led by Hashkey and Sevenx, and Arweave officially invested some of our funds.We started the project. My former colleague Sandy (developer from IMTOKEN) also joined us to form a three -person core technology team to promote the evolution of products.In July and August 2021, we began to conceive new ideas on Everpay and developed a decentralized exchange called Permaswap.In September, we completed the development of DEX and started operation.

Upgrade Evervision

In late 2021, I decided to go to Singapore to develop to expand communication and interaction with the Arweave community.In 2022, I came to Singapore and took the lead in hosting Arweave Day in Asia in October.At the conference we carried out the brand to reshape and changed from EVERFINANCE to Evervision.Because we find that the early stage of Arweave ecology can not only make finance, but also make wider applications.We are open to all the tools and ideas of Everpay, so that everyone can use it.Evervision provides an infrastructure based on Arweave storage consensus paradigm and is officially operated since October 2022.

Position Permadao

The following is about the original intention of Permadao.The experience of the bank and IMTOKEN let me realize that the core of the blockchain is to reshape people’s collaboration methods.From the primitive society to the present, the ledger and the currency system has evolved, and the blockchain is a decentralized ledger, which can record the workload and labor of each person and exchange value in the form of token.
Permadao’s goal is to explore a new way of collaboration and turn labor into tokens for transactions.We hope to promote permanent storage themes through Permadao in the AR ecosystem, and all jobs related to AR can get AR tokens rewards in DAO.Many friends contributed and got AR during the bear market. As the market recovered, they also received generous returns.

ao Computer

The idea of ​​AO is actually available as early as 2022.During the token 2049, SAM and SEVENX discussed the idea of ​​SCP (storage consensus paradigm) in the meal and combined with the decentralized reference layer.In June 2023, on the fifth anniversary of Arweave, I went to Germany to discuss with SAM and put forward the design version of AO.After several months of design and development, AO Global Computer was born.The core theory of AO Global Computer is SCP, which is calculated under the chain to store the storage on the chain to achieve the interconnection and collaboration of large -scale parallel computers.The user experience is almost consistent with the traditional cloud service, but behind it is a decentralized distributed system.

3..This track on decentralization also includes solutions and ecology including Filecoin, SIA, Storj, etc.Why did you choose Arweave?

Filecoin is a storage field.From the perspective of Ethereum, it seems to be an independent track, including Filecoin, SIA, Storj, and Arweave.However, the storage track is actually very segmented, and there is a huge difference between each project, especially between Arweave and the other three projects.The core of Filecoin is to create a decentralized storage market. Users can save documents through lease storage space, and service providers can obtain compensation by providing storage and proof.From my perspective, Filecoin only uses blockchain technology to realize a storage market, and users can trade on it.Arweave is completely different, and it focuses on blockchain storage.Blockchain stored is similar to Bitcoin ledger, which has the characteristics of decentralization, non -tampering and traceability.In contrast, Filecoin is just a storage market and does not have these blockchain characteristics.

From July 2020, we have learned that Arweave has the integrity of Turing and requires that the storage data cannot be tampered with and traceable.Do not tampering means that the data cannot be modified once it is written, which is the basic feature of the blockchain.Tracing can involve the openness and timestamp of data.If the data can only be obtained by some centralized agencies, such as archives or banks, although they can be traced, the cost of acquisition is high and not public.Arweave’s data is open and time can be traced, similar to the transaction records of Bitcoin, ensuring the integrity and transparency of the data.

Projects such as Filecoin pay more attention to the storage market, but cannot guarantee the blockchain characteristics of the data, so we cannot develop projects such as Everpay on this basis.If we use Filecoin for data storage, once the service provider stops renewal or does not provide services, our data may be lost, and we cannot guarantee that it cannot be tampered with and traceability.Arweave has all the characteristics of the blockchain. The data cannot be tampered with and traceable, and it is suitable for building consensus data.These characteristics enable it to support projects such as Everpay and AO.

4. 4..You have been in the web3 industry for nearly 6 years, can you share with us what major moments and changes in your entrepreneurial process?

In the process of entrepreneurship, AO’s release is a major moment.In the past few years, the SCP (Storage Consensus Standard) theory is promoted by me, and Arweave founder SAM has paid more attention to the permanent storage of data.The launch of AO really pushed SCP to the front desk.Previously, the inscriptions had achieved similar systems on Bitcoin with a storage consensus paradigm.The emergence of AO has made the Arweave ecosystem more complete, becoming a system that integrates inscriptions and calculations.

AO’s release of Everpay has a huge impact.Originally, Everpay was only a payment settlement system. Interactive interaction with other systems needs to cross the chain, and there is a certain threshold.The launch of AO has solved many payment problems, so that we decided to stop Everpay’s update iteration and transplant core technology to AO.At present, the AOX cross -chain bridge has been launched for more than two weeks and has about 3,500 users, which is the only cross -chain bridge in the Arweave ecosystem.

Another important turning point is Permaswap.Permaswap, originally based on Everpay, also has a new possibility after AO was launched.Because AO is very suitable for artificial intelligence and agent finance (Agentfi), PERMASWAP will be not only a decentralized exchange (DEX) in the future, but also incorporate financial scenarios such as borrowing and stable currency contracts to become the underlying financial agreement platform for AO.Developers can easily achieve their respective financial business.

5.Encouraging projects to use AO for AI application development seems to be your recent focus.AI applications are a very wide topic. Can you explain to you in a more understandable language? What are the characteristics of AO?Why is it suitable for AI development?

Everyone knows that AI has received great attention in the Web3 market, but in fact, it is difficult to achieve AI -driven optimization at present, whether it is any blockchain.On the chain, such AI applications are not significant.

The design of AO adopts a model called Actor Model. This model was originally used in Erlang programming language, originated in about 1972, in the previous round of AI outbreak.Scientists have proposed this concurrent calculation model for AI computing.Due to the improvement of modern computing power and the emergence of GPUs, coupled with the development of AO, this design model is now proven to be very suitable for AI computing.

SAM’s personal GitHub repository provides a LLMA3 multi -model code on AO, which means that AO can directly run a large model.Unlike other blockchains, AO can directly train model training, which is a major breakthrough.It is expected that at the 5th anniversary of the ArWEAVE on June 6, there will be more announcements about AI.

It is worth exploring that AO is a decentralized computing network that cannot be closed.If the AI ​​operation is placed on AO, we may implement an unable to close AI network.This is a bit similar to the Skynet in “Terminator”.Because the network is decentralized, AI can run on it and make money by themselves.If you earn enough, it can continue to run; otherwise, it will “die” because it cannot pay for calculation costs.

In this context, we think that AI on AO may produce a new life body.The combination of Arweave and AO provides AI “DNA” because data cannot be tampered with, traceable, and can be derived and growing on it.

6.Many web3 projects are actually using traditional cloud services.A large number of decentralized computing power infrastructure, including Render and IO.NET, is challenging the position of Web2 centralized platform.How do you think AO stands out?What breakthroughs can it bring?

I make a supplement here about the web2 solution and the GPU infrastructure.First, let’s take a look at the architecture and technology of AO.The SCP (storage consensus paradigm) mentioned earlier is to separate the computing layer from the storage layer, so that the storage layer is permanently decentralized, and the computing layer maintains the mode of the traditional computing layer.Therefore, there is no essential difference between AO’s computing resources and traditional calculations, but it has increased a permanent storage layer to trace traceable and decentralized.There is no type of limit for calculation of AO. We can implement various operational modes such as EVM and WASM on AO.By storing the calculation log and process on AR, the computing power of AO is almost the same as that of traditional calculations.In this way, we can further expand the GPU computing and even adapt to CUDA and other computing models of NVIDIA, showing its extensive expansion.

As for the competition with the traditional cloud computing platform, I think this is a pseudo -proposition.Projects such as Filecoin and IO.NET propose decentralized storage and computing power, trying to compete with traditional AWS, but the real value of the blockchain lies in consensus and trustworthiness, rather than directly competitive calculation costs or storage costs.Most nodes in Bitcoin and Ethereum are running on traditional cloud services, which indicates that the blockchain has no direct competitive intention to traditional cloud services.On the contrary, the blockchain provides a consensus mechanism for de -trust, which is its core value.We choose AO instead of traditional cloud computing, because we need to build consensus and ensure that data exist permanently.Traditional cloud computing cannot provide such trust, so blockchain has become a better choice.We are not to reduce costs, but to achieve the irreplaceable and traceability of data, which is also the core reason for choosing AO.

The core of decentralization calculation is the change of collaboration.New collaborative methods such as DAO do not rely on authoritative agencies, so that the systems and applications on AO will not end because of the closure of a cloud service provider.Even if a AWS node is closed, we can restart the business on other cloud services, which is the core point of decentralization.When AO expands calculations, it is not to replace traditional calculations, but to abstract it as a layer of abstraction to provide the ability to trust and permanently store.For example, Ethereum becomes a decentralized application chain through POW, but its infrastructure still relies on traditional cloud services.Similarly, AO’s decentralization calculation is not to compete for traditional computing power, but to provide developers with more business scenarios, such as NLP and driven games.

Similar to the comparison of Filecoin and Arweave, other projects such as IO.NET, RENDER, and Akash are more useful to allocate computing resources with decentralized technology. There is no innovation to achieve anti -review, non -closing or trusted computing method.EssenceTherefore, there are large differences between the two.In the Arweave ecology, there are already projects such as APUS are constructing GPU AO nodes.In the future, these nodes will also run on AO.AO, as an agreement, is designed by SAM and hopes to be more decentralized.Global developers can freely develop GPU computing, DPIN and social applications on the AO agreement, which is fully open and does not rely on large VC financing, but built in a decentralized manner from the beginning.This model makes AO highly decentralized from the beginning.

7.After the above sharing, your entrepreneurial thinking has become very clear: based on Arweave creation of AO, and then AO creates a series of applications that conform to the spirit of decentralized storage.So far, what do you think is most likely to help AR and even the entire Web3 ecosystem of attract large -scale users?

From AR to AO to AI, the application we are building is PERMASWAP.Permaswap uses the Storage Consensive Standard (SCP) idea when constructing, which makes its technical architecture completely different from the UNISWAP on Ethereum.Although it also uses the AMM model, the difference is that Uniswap’s funds are concentrated in a smart contract, and the smart contract operates and provides liquidity according to a single algorithm. This method is relatively efficient.In the architecture of AO, we use Agentfi models.

In traditional finance, funds are stored in banks, and banks are managed unified by banks. This method is low -efficiency and cumbersome processes.In DEFI, assets can be automatically pledged and flowed, which improves the efficiency of funds.On AO, all funds are custody by the user and managed through their own robots or AI.Each fund can have its own strategy, which will greatly improve the intelligent level of financial assets.Because AO has better performance and architecture, users can inject contract code into their wallet.In this way, each user can design the rules of agent robots in their wallet.If users like the rules of Uniswap V3, they can simply load them into their own agents with one click; if the user likes CURVE’s rules, he can also easily load the corresponding code.

Furthermore, the financial model of the agent makes the assets more intelligent.Fund is not only passively stored, but can be actively operated. Calculation and optimization through AI can greatly improve the liquidity and utilization efficiency of funds.Looking back at our financial development process, from traditional finance to DEFI, to Agentfi and AIFI on AO, the efficiency of funds and operations are continuously improved.In the future, Permaswap will become a financial infrastructure that provides underlying support for Agentfi and AIFI. Developers can build various applications on them, including social, games, DEFI, content creation and other applications.Each application’s assets and logic can be interoperable through agreements to form an efficient financial ecosystem.
