In a newly exposed photo allegedly taken at the Metropolitan Detention Center in New York, former billionaire SBF has grown a new beard and has become slimmer in waistline.
The photo was shared by independent cryptocurrency journalist Tiffany Fong during an interview with a former MDC prison inmate known as “G Lock.”
Fong called the photo the “first and only” photo released by Sam Bankman-Fried since he was convicted of fraud in August 2023.
The photo was reportedly taken on December 17.In the photo, SBF has a beard and stands with the other five prisoners, looking significantly thinner.
Fong also uploaded a currently undisclosed interview with G Lock, who had been in contact with him while serving his sentence at SBF.
“He obviously lost a little bit of weight, and I heard he didn’t take a shower too often. He no longer shaves clean like he used to, but he obviously has gone through a lot of things now,” Fong said.
G. Locke described SBF as “so weird” but admitted that he thought he was a “good guy”.
While SBF did not shave or bathe, G Lock said he hadn’t had too hard time in prison, adding that the former FTX CEO had not suffered severe violence or intimidation during his time at MDC.
It is worth noting that G Lock described SBF as more “gangster-like” than American rapper Tekashi Six Nine, because unlike this rapper, SBF never “stole” anyone in prison.
Members of the crypto space quickly commented on the emerging photo.
“If that’s really SBF, it means that life in prison is not very good for him,” said Iam Nomad, a pseudonym trader.
Meanwhile, others joked that SBF was forced to “join a gang” in prison.
“SBF looks like it’s going to release an album of the year,” another user joked.
At the end of the video, Fong said SBF’s inmates also laughed at him for dating Caroline Ellison, and SBF and his inmates watched the now-infamous 60 Minutes interview with the interviewees of “The Big Boy”》Author Michael Lewis, the interview was released at the same time as his biography “The Endless Road: The Rise and Fall of a New Tycoon”.
