Former President Donald Trump wrote in a new book to be published next week,Mark Zuckerberg conspired to oppose him during the 2020 election and said if the Meta CEO does so again, he “will spend the rest of his life in jail.”
This is Trump’s latest attack on Zuckerberg, who has repeatedly accused Zuckerberg of interfering in the last presidential election.Meanwhile, Meta has taken steps to assure conservatives that it will not affect this year’s campaign.
Save America, a coffee table book written by Trump, will be released on September 3 and includes an undated photo of Trump and Zuckerberg meeting at the White House.Below the photo, Trump wrote that Zuckerberg “will come to see me in the Oval Office. He will take his very pretty wife to dinner with him, behave as good as anyone, while always plotting to install shamefullockbox, really plotting against the president,” Trump added, referring to the 4.2 donation from Zuckerberg and his wife Priscilla Chan to fund election infrastructure during the 2020 election$100 million.
“He told me that there was no one on Facebook like Trump. But at the same time, for some reason, he used it against me,” Trump continued.“We are watching him closely and if he does anything illegal this time, he will spend the rest of his life in jail – just like everyone else who cheated in the 2024 presidential election.”
Trump has made similar remarks about Zuckerberg before.Trump wrote in a July Truth Social post that if elected, he would “hunt down election fraudsters with unprecedented force and imprison them for a long time. We already know who you are. Don’t do that! ZuckerberBe careful, guys!”
Republicans criticized Meta for suppressing content that could harm President Joe Biden’s interests in 2020, most notably about reports about the then-candidate son Hunter. At the time, the FBI warned that the reports could be part of an action planned by Russia to affect the election.
Zuckerberg Zhou unanimously wrote to the Republican-controlled House Judiciary Committee, acknowledging that suppressing the report was a mistake and said “it has since been made clear that the report is not a false information from Russia, and in retrospect, we should not reduce the weight of the report.”,
In the same letter, Zuckerberg wrote that the Biden administration had tried to “press” Meta to downplay certain content about the pandemic, saying the White House was “wrong”.Zuckerberg also said he would not provide similar funds for election infrastructure before this year’s election, but he also stressed that the funds were not intended to show partisan nature.
Save America is published by Winning Team Publishing, a company co-founded by Donald Trump Jr. and Trump’s ally Sergio Gore.
