On January 20, 2025, Donald Trump was sworn in as the 47th U.S. President in the Rotunda Hall of the Capitol Building in Washington, the capital of the United States.
Here is the full text of his speech:

Thanks.Thank you very much.Thank you very much, very much.Vice President Vance, Speaker Johnson, Senator Thun, Chief Justice Roberts, Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court, President Clinton, President Bush, President Obama, President Biden, Vice President Harris, and my fellow countrymen.The golden age of America is now beginning.
From today on, our country will flourish and be respected by the whole world again.We will be the envy of every country, and we will no longer let ourselves be exploited.Every day in the Trump administration, I will put the United States first.Our sovereignty will be taken back.Our safety will be restored.The balance of justice will be rebalanced.The evil, violence and unfair weaponization of the Ministry of Justice and our government will end.Our priority will be to build a country of pride, prosperity and freedom.
America will soon become greater, stronger, and more outstanding than ever before.I return to the presidential throne with confidence and optimism, believing that we are at the beginning of a new era of success in an exciting country, the wave of change is sweeping across the country, and the sun shines on the whole world, and the United States has the opportunity to seize this unprecedented opportunity.
But first, we must face the challenges we face honestly.Although these challenges are numerous, they will be wiped out by the huge advantage of the United States of America as witnessed by the world.
When we come together today, our government faces a crisis of trust.For many years a radical and corrupt institution has seized power and wealth from our citizens, while the pillars of our society have been broken and seemingly completely disrepaired.
We now have a government that cannot even manage a simple crisis in China, and at the same time, it is trapped in a series of catastrophic events abroad.It fails to protect our great, law-abiding American citizens, but provides shelter and protection to dangerous criminals, many of whom come from prisons and mental hospitals, who illegally enter our country from all over the world.
Our government has provided unlimited funding for defending foreign borders, but has refused to defend the U.S. borders and, more importantly, to defend its own people.Our country can no longer provide basic services in emergencies, as the excellent people of North Carolina have recently shown that they have been treated so badly, as other states are still suffering from hurricanes that happened a few months ago.
Or recently in Los Angeles, we saw the fires that were still burning miserably a few weeks ago without even a little sign of defense.They rage in houses and communities, and even affect some of the richest and most powerful people in our country, some of whom sit here now.They never have home again.It’s interesting, but we can’t let this happen again.There is nothing everyone can do about it.This situation will change.
Our public health system did not work when disasters occurred, but it cost more in this regard than any country in the world.Our education system teaches our children to be ashamed of themselves and in many cases they still hate our country despite our desperate efforts to provide them with love.From today on, all this will change and it will change very quickly.
My recent elections were authorized to completely and completely turn a horrible betrayal, and all of these betrayals that have happened, and return their faith, their wealth, their democracy, and even their freedom to the people.
From this moment on, the decline of the United States ended.Our freedom and the glorious destiny of our nation will no longer be denied, and we will immediately restore the integrity, ability and loyalty of the U.S. government.Over the past eight years, I have experienced more tests and challenges than any president in the 250-year history of the United States, and I have learned a lot.I can tell you that rebuilding our republic is not easy.

For the Black and Hispanic communities, I want to thank you for the tremendous love and trust you have expressed to me through the vote.We set records that I will not forget.I heard you during the campaign and I look forward to working with you in the years to come.Today is Martin Luther King Il and his honor, which will be a great honor, but for his honor we will work together to make his dreams a reality.We will make his dream come true.Thank you.Thank you.
The United States is restoring national unity, and confidence and pride are unprecedentedly high.Everything we do.My government will be motivated by the pursuit of excellence and relentless success.We will not forget our country.We will not forget our Constitution, nor our God.Can’t do this.
Today, I will sign a series of historic executive orders.With these actions, we will begin a complete revival of the United States and a revolution of common sense.All of this is common sense.
First, I will declare a national emergency on my southern border.All illegal entry will be stopped immediately and we will begin to repatriate millions of criminal foreigners to where they come.
We will resume my policy of staying in Mexico.I will end the practice of catching and putting it out.I will send troops to the southern border to fight back the catastrophic invasion of our country.
According to the order I signed today, we will also identify the cartel as a foreign terrorist organization.By invoking the Foreign Enemy Act of 1798, I will direct our government to use the full and immense power of federal and state enforcement to eliminate all foreign gangs and criminal networks that have brought devastating crimes to the United States, including our towns.As Commander-in-Chief, I have no higher responsibility than defending our country from threats and invasions, and that’s exactly what I’m going to do.We will reach unprecedented levels.
Next, I will direct all members of my cabinet to concentrate the immense power they can dominate to defeat record inflation and quickly reduce costs and prices.
The inflation crisis is caused by massive overspending and rising energy prices, which is why today I will also declare a national energy emergency.We want to mine oil, babies, we want to mine oil.
The United States will be a manufacturing country again, we have things that other manufacturing countries will never have, the largest oil and gas storage on the planet, we will use it, and they use it, too.We will lower prices, once again enrich our strategic reserves until the peak, and export U.S. energy to the world.

I will immediately begin to overhaul our trading system to protect American workers and families.We do not tax our citizens to make other countries rich, but tax our citizens rich.

This week, I will resume all military positions of all military personnel who have been unfairly expelled from the military for their anti-Coronavirus vaccine injunctions and fully repaid wages.I will sign an order to prevent our soldiers from suffering from radical political theory and social experiments while on duty.It’s about to end.
Our armed forces will be free to focus on their sole mission: defeating the enemy of America.
Like in 2017, we will once again build the world’s most powerful army ever.We will measure our success not only by the battles we win, but by the wars we end, and perhaps most importantly, the wars we have never been involved in.
My most proud legacy will be a peacemaker and unity, and that’s what I want to be, a peacemaker and unity.I am happy to say that just yesterday, the day before I took office, hostages from the Middle East were returning home to reunite with their families.
