CEO interpretation of the FHE solution ZAMA progress, use cases and overall planning

ZAMA development progress

Four years ago, we founded ZAMA, which is an open source cryptography company focusing on FHE (Code Study Grail “).At that time, FHE was more theoretical mathematics rather than the actual code. It was too slow, too expensive, and required too much cryptography expertise, and could only support a small number of practical applications.In the next few years -to a large extent, we must attribute to the unremitting efforts of our team -we have solved these problems in an orderly manner, so that FHE is generally available for non -cryptographic developers for the first time.I am very proud of this work.This is a major achievement.

Today, ZAMA provides a strong open source FHE library and solution.From independent developers to large enterprises, anyone can build applications providing users with end -to -end encryption for users.Developers can start using without knowing any knowledge about cryptography.Our FHE solution is based on TFHE and supports any type of application. No matter how complicated, it has greatly expanded FHE’s applicability.

In addition to security and development personnel experience, we also persistently pay attention to performance.Since its launch, we have increased the FHE scheme by 20 times and are expected to reach 100 times soon.This key performance milestone has unlocked key confidential blockchain and AI use cases.The dedicated FHE hardware accelerator launched in the next two years will make up for the final gap to achieve network -scale applications, such as confidential large language models (LLM) and encrypted software, as SaaS.

In addition to promoting our research, this fund also provides us with several years of runway and necessary resources to support our partners we will invest with FHE today.Although our partners have spanned the extensive industry fields, we find that blockchain is a key market that ZAMA focuses on this year.One of the main problems of the blockchain is that all transactions and data are visible, which brings challenges to application developers who need to use sensitive information (such as personal or financial data).To solve this problem, we created FHEVM, which is a confidential smart contract solution that enables developers to create confidential chain applications in Solidity.FHEVM can integrated into any EVM compatibility chain to ensure that when transaction is submitted to smart contract processing transactions, the status is always encrypted.

Several incredible projects have integrated FHEVM:

  • FhenixIt is FHE 2 layer Rollup, which uses FHEVM to implement confidential transactions in the Ethereum ecosystem to meet the key needs of privacy in the expansion solution.

  • Shiba inuIt is one of the largest tokens in a market value. It is using FHEVM to build the entire network status for its community to provide motivation for all from decentralized financial infrastructure to the Yuan universe.

  • INCOIt is a modular blockchain that uses FHEVM to provide confidentiality to various 1 -layer network, as to serve the privacy of existing blockchain.

In the next year, as more developers find out what they can build now, we expect that FHE innovation will show index growth.

Some more popular blockchain examples include:

  • Confidential token—— The balance and amount are encrypted.For example, this allows the company to manage the salary bill on the chain without disclosing the identity and salary of employees.

  • DID——The user’s age, nationality, social security number or credit score can be secretly stored on the chain.This solves the elusive identity problem in cryptocurrencies, and realizes Sybill resistance in the regulatory compliance, airdrop, and unsecured credit of DEFI.

  • game——The attributes can be kept in the game.Examples include poker, Wordle or other strategic games.

  • Institutional finance——Honal world assets such as common funds or mortgages can be carried out and traded without revealing their identities and amounts to other participants.

I am also excited about FHE’s application in AI.Using our Concrete framework (translator’s note: TFHE compiler can convert the Python program into FHE equivalent program), now you can convert the AI ​​model to FHE equivalent model, and to train and operate encrypted data.Data scientists can now start to build simple confidential artificial intelligence applications, and in the near future, in the near future, more complex models are integrated with the launch of hardware acceleration, such as large language models.

Blockchain and AI are just beginning.Our long -term goal is to encrypt the entire Internet end to the end.

ZAMA’s overall plan:

  • First of all, it is very easy to use for developers, no matter what they use.

  • Secondly, the speed of FHE is extremely fast, extend the confidential blockchain to more than 1,000 transactions per second, and generates dozens of encrypted LLM token per second.

  • Third, introduce FHE into cloud applications from the database to SaaS.

  • Finally, the entire Internet is ended to end -to -end encryption through the new “HTTPZ” protocol supported by FHE.
