Bitcoin NFT makes a comeback weekly sales disrupt Ethereum

Bitcoin NFT set a record daily sales so far this weekend, surpassing Ethereum even this week.

After a sudden surge in the NFT series based on Bitcoin ordinal numbers (led primarily by the NodeMonkes series), Bitcoin irreplaceable tokens (NFTs) sales have just surpassed Ethereum in the past 7 days.

Bitcoin NFT sales soared 80% month-on-month to $168.5 million, and 3 of the five best-selling NFT series this week were based on Bitcoin Ordinals.According to CryptoSlam, Ethereum’s sales were only $162 million!data.

Launched in January 2023, Ordinals provides tools to create NFT-like assets that allow users to insert files such as images into Bitcoin’s smallest unit satoshis (sats).

Uncategorized serial numbers (not belonging to any series) sold the highest volume, with more than 47,000 transactions and sold more than $43 million.

Following closely behind is the Bitcoin-based NodeMonkes series with sales of over $41 million, up nearly 170% from the previous week.Ordinals Series Natcats ranked fourth this week with sales of over $10 million.

NodeMonkes is a collection of 10,000 unique pixelated profile pictures (PFP) style ordinal numbers launched in December, and is said to be the first powerful collection on Bitcoin.

The other 10,000-count Ordinals series have been launched before, but the NodeMonkes team burned their series to the blockchain in February 2023, a month after Ordinals was launched.

X user “NFTstats” posted on March 2 that NodeMonkes has a market capitalization of over $500 million, making it the third largest collection of PFP-style NFTs in all blockchains, second only to the Bored Ape Yacht Club based on Ethereum (BAYC).).

It is not clear why the series has been attracting attention recently.

NFT Collection GRAYCRAFT founder Kevin Wu wrote in a February 22 article that NodeMonkes has a “meaningful source” because it is the first PFP-style NFT collection on “the first chain ever”, which gives it a “great competitive narrative” that speculative investors can buy now.
