“Ambition” of CKB and RGB++

When the RGB++ protocol was first launched, the market was very popular, and many people were discussing the impact of such a new technology protocol. The first use case of the “isomorphic binding” technology proposed by RGB++ combines BTC networks and CKB.The Internet has also triggered people’s re-understanding of CKB network and have new expectations for its future development.But after a period of time, as the heat slowly dissipated, it seemed to return to silence.

But, is it really silent?

Focus on your attention

“Attention economy” is a word that is often mentioned now, and projects on the market are trying to capture users’ attention.However, attention is in most cases a “short process” that is easily dispersed and diverted.This is the current situation of the market, so most of us go with the flow and keep pursuing the “hot spots of the market”. A few have gained profits, and most of them have gained losses and anxiety.

I have always believed that if you want to pay attention to a track/project, you need to track and adjust it for a long time.This cycle does not need to be exaggerated in years, but at least it is calculated based on months.Because technology development, development and application take time, it will not appear out of thin air, and it will not even accelerate because of the large number of people.I investigate every track/project I like and adhere to this concept, so you will see that it has been almost a year since I preached RGB, but it still maintains updates to protocols, ecological projects, etc., and the same is true for RGB++.

The value generated by lasting attention can often be greater because it is based on a deeper understanding of cognition and is a rational cognition.The truth is very similar to “focusing on generating power”, even in an industry like crypto that changes very quickly and is greatly affected by emotions.

So, you might as well focus your attention and see the recent developments of CKB and RGB++.

In development, the ecological map is improving

On April 24, I once shared the ecological map under NERVOS. A friend commented: “It looks like a lot, but in fact it is the part in the lower left corner.”

Yes, at that time, some of the part in the lower left corner even belonged to the concept stage, some were not yet developed, and some were just completed and were not mature.On the one hand, it is a historical problem left over from the previous cycle and needs to be repaired; on the other hand, the new agreement has just been established and all industries are waiting to be developed.

Now, two and a half months have passed, let’s take a look at what changes have happened:

Of course, this is just the part I know. As for what I am actually doing, maybe there are more… Actually, I am quite amazed at the speed and progress, but I didn’t get it in this “market full of various information”.Just enough attention.

After sorting out this information, I tried to sort out the development routes of CKB and RGB++ from the context.

Characteristics are the key

To achieve your goal, you must build on your precise positioning. What is the positioning of CKB and RGB++? To answer this question, you need to return to your understanding of “CKB and RGB++” and find their own characteristics.

In the market, every project/technology has its own characteristics, such as the BTC characteristics are “the most decentralized and safest”, the ETH characteristics are “smart contracts”, the RGB characteristics are “clients”, and the Lightning Network characteristics are “native, Payment”, so what are their characteristics for CKB and RGB++?

RGB++: Bind

Many people would emphasize that RGB++ is a BTC one-layer asset protocol, which in my opinion is not a major feature.There are many assets in one layer, brc20, runes, atomicals… We are not short of one layer of asset agreement.What we lack is the part of the technology that is truly innovative.

Yes, it is “isomorphic binding”!

In the entire RGB++ technology, “isomorphic binding” is the essence, and the “L1/L2 duality description” we see on the market all come from this technology.It provides a new cross-chain method for assets, allowing assets to flow freely on isomorphic chains in a native way.It’s like building bridges among a group of isolated islands. In the past, you could only entrust people with boats to get back and forth, but now you can bring the supplies from the bridge yourself.

What is new technology narrative?It may be a new concept/form/implementation process, but it must be a new one, not previously available on the market or not tried.Isomorphic binding is such a technology in this round.

CKB:CELL

In fact, it is difficult to define the characteristics of CKB. It has many labels, Chinese celebrity public chains?POW?Enhanced UTXO?…Many tags have some characteristics of CKB.But if I were asked to choose, I would tend to make it go far:

CELL

That’s right, it’s a brand new accounting model created by CKB: the CELL model.This is an enhanced UTXO model that combines the programmability of the account model with the scalability and flexibility of the UTXO model.Its abstract level makes it less restrictive to contract developers of systems and applications, and combined with CKB-VM, it can develop many functions that cannot be implemented on traditional UTXO models.

However, in terms of expansion, EVM and other things have been achieved, is this a very innovative thing?!For the account model, it is indeed sparse and ordinary, but it is very difficult for the UTXO model.If you pay a little attention to the development of the BTC ecosystem in this round, you will know that in order to achieve scalability, it is difficult to do it based on UTXO.Thanks to the characteristics of CKB’s early framework, it has enabled him to have this expansion in the UTXO chain.

Actually, I want to add another POW in front, but most people don’t have any feelings about the consensus mechanism of the chain. Anyway, it’s just verification on the chain.However, as you study in depth, you will find that POW is the “bottom of value” and the “support of decentralization”.Of course, the market may not care about these things. What can the public chain controlled by more than a dozen nodes do? Just play it!

Two lines

Now, we can roughly sort out the two current lines, two related, parallel but not completely affiliated lines.

RGB++’s line: Asset Current Extended

>Isomorphic binding should play its role, and assets are the basis, so it is necessary to promote the issuance of RGB++ assets for different ecological projects.

>To have assets flow, transactions and other behaviors are required, so various platforms such as the first and second floors are necessary conditions, and the implementation on the second floor requires CELL design, which is where the line fusion is

>You can’t just play within a small circle, you need to extend more categories, so you need to associate more assets and more chains. This is also the reason why CCBTC, leapX, Fractal, etc. are introduced; extension requires theoretical design,Practical development requires money, and this is the purpose of the establishment of the “Ecological Fund”.

CKB’s line: infrastructure, new scenario

>To play various assets within the CKB network, infrastructure needs to be supplemented, whether on the product side or the development tool side

>To solve the occupation problem of CKB, UTXO STACK is needed; to solve the payment Tps problem, CKB’s lightning network is needed, and new functions must be developed according to actual needs.

>To give full play to the expansion characteristics of CELL, you need to find a scenario suitable for expansion. AA wallet based on CELL script can solve payment scenarios, combined with nostr, can create functional social scenarios, and combined with xudt, can create assets that meet game scenarios…

Nostr, a key?

From the user’s perspective, what we need is interesting products, and just talking about technology is useless.I seem to see a combination product form from recent updates.

Nostr is a decentralized, P2P communication protocol. It is simple and beautiful, with extremely high DIY attributes. However, the current products based on Nostr have not received widespread attention, and social protocols such as Prime are just some early geeks.When used, the associated BTC Lightning Network payment method is also relatively complex.

What if Nostr and CKB network/RGB++ assets are combined?

  1. The Nostr account can be used as a CKB AA wallet, and can be transferred directly to other accounts through the Nostr account, and the paid assets can be BTC assets, RGB++ assets, EVM assets, and even SOL assets in the future.

  2. Nostr account can directly participate in DAPPs on CKB, such as Mint assets, interactive Defi, and Frame applets similar to the latest blink and Farcaster on SOL.

  3. The upcoming Lightning Network of CKB will make payments faster and the overall implementation process is simpler. You don’t need to bind a lightning account, and CKB’s Lightning Network can even run smart contracts to achieve some logical control.

  4. All Event content on Nostr can be directly programmed with different types of assets on the CKB network. The Event mechanism and CKB POW network can effectively ensure the ownership of assets, which will generate many interesting ideas such as asset interaction and asset issuance.

Of course, I don’t think that using this set of logic to make a product that imitates existing social software can achieve great success. It needs to find a more suitable scenario, a scenario that requires strong “payment” and “message delivery”..This combination of scenarios may be a key to opening up the market.

Ambition

I have expectations for the CKB and RGB++ teams in my heart, so I use the word “ambition” to express my expectations for their future, and also include their prospects and plans for the future.

It is actually not an easy thing to develop a POW chain that has been running for so many years and can maintain updates and new narratives. You can find many counterexamples in this market, and it is difficult to maintain the original intention of doing a project.

So, what are the ambitions of CKB and RGB++?Maybe:

Build RGB++ into a path, connecting most assets on the previous layer, and connecting more UTXO chains; at the intersection of the road is a castle built by CKB, where various WEB2/WEB3 applications can be widely carried out, whether it is payment orSocial, finance, gaming or something else.
