Let’s talk about some of the current conditions of the x402 track and make a brief comment, for reference only.:
1) The word “leader changes owner” was originally thought to be in quotation marks for “change of ownership”, but looking back, I saw that the real quotation marks were “leader”.
PING attracted PoTian’s attention and made the track popular but failed to show its domineering power. It is also fate. It is not even a little bit different from the original GOAT. Who knows that now is a period of liquidity exhaustion;
The name Pay of PAYAI plays a big role, and Facilitator does play a major role in the technical architecture of x402. However, the technical threshold of the x402 track is generally not high, so most people are still speculating on MEME.
Therefore, I am leaning towards the current track,It is still too early to talk about “Dragon One, Dragon Two”, at least it is not stable yet, but fortunately the popularity of the track has not faded, and we are waiting for the next change of situation.;
2) Many people complained that CEX did not relay the x402 track.Yes, I also want to know why.But the fact is,The counterattack of innovative business formats on the chain has changed from providing value targets for exchanges to an embarrassing situation that grabs the attention of CEX..This is the most fundamental motivation that I have been shouting for on-chain innovation. Once on-chain innovation is passive, more innovation will be stifled.
However, we can also see clues to the layout of the exchange. The suggestions I wrote to Star Xu should be taken into consideration based on the recent actions of X Layer.In addition, OKX also expressed its attitude after launching Virtuals. They need to find certainty in the chaos.Therefore, it is expected that many “regular troops” on the x402 track will receive an olive branch from OKX.
What’s interesting is that Bybit is also very responsive in this wave. When PING became popular, it quietly launched PAYAI’s Alpha, and Mantle is also doing a series of x402 track-related layouts.
This shows that CEX is not a completely indifferent spectator.The rise of the x402 track is an opportunity for them to break the unequal competition among their peers. It is a key node for them to pull the industry back to the main line of technical narrative from the internal friction of MEME hype..Caution means that if taken seriously, it can be regarded as a benefit;
3) Many people who are pessimistic compare the x402 track with the original inscription and the subsequent AI Agent craze.Thinking that the excitement is only temporary and will be a mess in the end.
I agree that there is a bubble, and most projects will definitely die, but I am optimistic about the long-term accumulated value of this matter, the reasons have been analyzed many times in my past articles.
A simple summary is that Inscription is an asset issuance game carved on gold. x402 is currently focusing on AI Pay infrastructure services. Launchpad has not really come out yet, and it is not purely operational logic.
As for the AI Agent craze, I believe that the x402 track craze is a continuation of the previous wave of AI Agents. From the meaningless scene where AI Agents can only chat, they have become AI Agents participating in payments.This transformation is of great significance, at least it is difficult to falsify.
