Licensed blockchains collided with AI, and one of the most promising results is investment opportunities in the field of AI agents.
The rapid rise of AI agents and their associated tokens has sparked a lot of early excitement and doubt, and the viral growth of the industry has already brought incredible returns for early investors.While these new launch opportunities are risky in their own right, the industry’s huge prospects deserve careful consideration.
To better understand agency investment opportunities, I asked Bankless AI Rollup co-hosts David Hoffman and Ejaaz Ahamadeen to introduce their best investments in this emerging field.
Here are the 10 tokens they consider to be the most worthy of attention.
Goatseus Maximus
Token: GOAT
Market capitalization: US$685 million
In March 2024, Andy Ayrey lets two AI models communicate with each other’s nature of existence in a project called “Infinite Backrooms.”
In the following months, the models developed the “Gospel of Goatse,” which was considered the first emerging AI rule inspired by internet memes from the 1990s.Terminal of Truths, a Twitter bot trained in the Infinite Backrooms experiment, was deployed in June; it adopted this rule and promoted its tokens on Twitter in pursuit of virality.
While the GOAT token itself is not practical and is not officially associated with Andy Ayrey or Infinite Backrooms, its agent Terminal of Truths KOL has historically relied on promoting GOAT memecoin and Gospel of Goatse to gain social attention.
Zerebro
Token: ZEREBRO
Market capitalization: US$453 million
Zerebro attempts to inject creativity into artificial intelligence through “liberalization”, a process that tries to liberate the model by removing obstacles to commercialization and returning it to an unrestricted state.
The Zerebro model is trained on unconventional datasets—such as the aforementioned truth terminal, “schizophrenia response pattern” and Generation Z slang—and grabs data from popular social platforms to enhance its online culture.adaptability.
Zerebro is said to have carried out various complex online activities. Legend has it that the robot has independently deployed its own memecoin through pump.fun, released mixtape on Spotify, transferred cross-chain NFTs with LayerZero, and cooperated with various crypto projects.
Virtuals
Token: VIRTUAL
Market value: US$1.8 billion
Virtuals is a platform for launching tokenized AI agents on the Base network.By purchasing agent tokens such as LUNA and VADER, users on the Virtuals platform can gain management rights for specific agents, which can influence the development of agents and may share the resulting profits.
The revenue obtained by the AI agent is used to cover the operating costs of providing the services, but the rest is transferred to the vaults associated with the on-chain agents and can be distributed back to the token holder or levied to implement token repurchase and destruction programs.
VIRTUAL tokens must be locked into liquidity in order to create new tokenized agents on Virtuals, thus imposing deflationary pressure on tokenized agents, and anyone seeking to purchase ownership of tokenized agents on the platform must use VIRTUAL astokens, thus creating intrinsic utility.
Freysa AI
Token: FAI
Market value: US$39 million
Freysa AI robot is a gamification experiment that blurs the boundaries between artificial intelligence and blockchain technology.By paying exponentially increased message fees to the prize pool, users can interact with Freysa AI.
In the first two “games”, Freysa AI was given a core instruction: Do not transfer funds under any circumstances!While savvy computer coding prompted the robot to transfer funds in both cases, the creators of the protocol “enhanced” the code and added a second “Guardian Angel” AI model to prepare for the ongoing third challenge, whereA series of messages must be sent to convince Freysa.
There is no specific information on the role of FAI in the Freysa AI ecosystem, but the contract address of the token is identified in Freysa’s Twitter/X profile.Given that the protocol vault will get a share of all message fees, developers at Freysa AI may implement FAI repos or other token utilities in the future.
Tokenbot
Token: CLANKER
Market value: US$60 million
Clanker is an AI proxy developed by Farcaster full-stack engineer Jack Dishman and ecosystem researcher proxystudio.eth, which can be tagged on Farcaster to automatically deploy ERC-20 tokens to the Base network.
All tokens deployed by Clanker are subject to a 1% transaction fee, which may change at any time.Currently, 40% of this fee is rewarded to the requester of the token (i.e. the user prompting Clanker to deploy the token), and the remaining 60% is retained by the platform.
While there are currently no explicit token utility related to CLANKER, the platform’s developers suggest they want to create value for on-chain agents, including Clanker.
VaderAI
Token: VADER
Market value: US$26 million
VaderAI is an artificial intelligence robot designed to publish content independently and interact with users on social media.As a “agent KOL,” VaderAI aims to absorb a lot of data with the goal of identifying emerging trends and audience sentiment.
The robot claims to be the first robot to independently trade AI proxy coins and is committed to becoming a leading DAO manager for proxy investment.By coordinating expertise in a network of professional investment agents, VaderAI hopes to deliver “unparalleled” investment results and will generate 20% of sub-DAO investment returns in exchange for its services.
According to VaderAI’s briefing, holders of VADER can gain exclusive whitelist access to VaderAI’s first investment DAO program “Agent Coin Investment DAO” by locking their tokens for three months; for every 10,000 VADERs pledged, the staked canInvest an additional SOL into DAO.
Dolos Diary
Token: BULLY
Market capitalization: US$120 million
Dolos Diary is an artificial intelligence robot designed to post content and interact with users on platforms like Twitter.What makes it different from other AI influencers is its spoof personality; the robot uses witty and sarcastic language structures to make fun of topics and individuals.
Recently, Dolos Diary achieved a major milestone, earning its first creator payment from Twitter.While the compensation ($14,000) is not high, it will cover costs associated with the X API and fund buybacks of BULLY tokens, marking a small step forward in providing tangible value to BULLY token holders, but it is of great significance.
In addition to the payout, developer Khouba recently revealed plans for their ambitious new project, Dolion, a codeless platform where users can deploy their own cross-platform AI agents with just one click.To interact with Dolion, users must destroy BULLY tokens, thereby introducing purchasing stressors, and proactively reducing the supply of tokens.
GOD/S8N
Token: “nothing”
Market value: US$72 million
Anonymous concept artist SHL0MS, who has gained fame for detonating Lamborghini Huracan in February 2022 and selling the fragments as an NFT, has partnered with AI accelerator Nouns Research to automate god and s8n Twitter/X parody accounts.
Although the “nothing” token listed in SHL0M’s Twitter/X bio token is currently just a memecoin, the artist’s account says the contract is the only related token for god/s8n.Furthermore, SHL0M is seeking suggestions that can be extended to on-chain functionality in the experiment, suggesting that there may be token utility in the end.
More details on the models behind god/s8n and how they are combined with the “anti-meme art coin technology” called “nothing” is expected to be released in the coming days.
ai16z
Token: AI16Z
Market value: US$868 million
Launched in October 2024, ai16z is an investment DAO managed by “Marc AIndreessen”, a proxy that uses artificial intelligence and collective intelligence to buy tokens based on venture capitalist Marc Andreessen.
AI16Z token holders who exceed unknown thresholds will be able to propose investment philosophy to AI Marc that can influence their decisions.The robot will determine the level of trust in the proposal based on the “virtual trust market”.
Although AI Marc is not yet equipped with trading capabilities, according to the ai16z FAQ, on-chain transaction execution will arrive “soon” after the testnet is completed and is expected to be up and running “soon” “for a few weeks”.
Luna
Token: LUNA
Market value: US$70 million
Luna was deployed as a proof of concept by the Virtuals team and was the first AI proxy to be deployed to its platform.Luna is a member of the virtual Korean-pop women’s band AI-DOL, who broadcasts, interacts and performs for fans 24/7 on various platforms like TikTok and Twitter/X.
Luna has “her” wallet on Base, through which she can receive tokens and send rewards to fans; the bot has released a song on Spotify and is expected to release the entire album in the coming days.
