Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump at a rally in Racine, Wisconsin on June 18Promise to “end Joe Biden’s war on cryptocurrency”.

Trump said his goal is to “ensure the future of cryptocurrencies and the future of Bitcoin will be made in the United States.”He warned that if the United States does not, other countries will seize the opportunity.

Trump’s campaign has challenged Biden’s economic policies outside of cryptocurrency in other ways.Trump campaign spokesman Anna Kelly described “high prices, falling wages and stagnation in manufacturing” under Biden in a statement to Reuters.

Reuters pointed out that the town where the rally is located is the location of the controversial Foxconn factory.During his first term, Trump attributed the construction of the plant to his pro-manufacturing policy, but the plant ultimately failed to provide the expected number of jobs.

Trump insists his crypto strategy will “create opportunities for young people.”

Trump’s earlier cryptocurrency commitment

Trump’s latest commitment to support cryptocurrency is ahead of other similar statements. On May 8, Trump called on support from the cryptocurrency community, saying: “If you support cryptocurrency, it’s better to vote for Trump.”

Later, on June 7, he promised to end the “Biden-Gensler’s crusade against cryptocurrency.”Trump’s statement mentioned the Biden administration’s SEC chairman Gary Gensler.

On June 12, Trump said he intends to let the U.S. mine all the remaining bitcoin, claiming that such a policy will help the country establish an energy dominance.

Biden’s approach is uncertain

With Trump’s more outspoken support for the cryptocurrency industry, Biden’s competitors could change their harsh stance on the industry.

Biden’s campaign is reportedly seeking opinions from members of the cryptocurrency industry to take an outreach approach. And, after Trump’s earlier decision to accept cryptocurrencies through Coinbase Commerce, Biden’s campaign may soon do so.

However, the Biden campaign has not taken or confirmed any action. So far, only anonymous sources have reported the so-called plan.
