What social media do crypto people prefer?

The most commonly used social media platforms for encryption are X (formerly Twitter), Telegram and YouTube, which accounted for 84.0% of the total number of crypto community responses in one survey.Another 15.0% of people use Discord, Reddit or other social media platforms, the remaining 1.0% claim to be none of the encrypted social media.

While X has no surprise become the most popular crypto social media, only 41.7% or less than half of the crypto community see it as their primary platform for spending their time. This suggests that while crypto Twitter is well known, CT content and conversations are often cited or referenced for industry development, X is not the only online space where crypto communities are primarily gathering.

The investigation found thatTelegram and YouTube are similar in popularity in the crypto community.21.5% said they spend most of their time encrypted Telegram, followed by 20.8% who mostly spend their time encrypted YouTube.

Encrypted Discord is the main social media platform for 6.8% of participants, slightly higher than the 4.5% who use encrypted Reddit primarily. This may be because Discord and Reddit are seen more widely as complementary social media platforms for the crypto community.

at the same time,Only 1.3% of the participants were primarily Farcaster users.Decentralized social media has caused a sensation once it was launched and continues to attract attention, but it remains to be seen whether Farcaster can cement its mainstay in crypto-social media platforms.

Finally, 2.4% of participants said they mainly used other social media that were not among the options offered. For example, several people mentioned 4chan, WhatsApp and TikTok.More unusual answers include DeBank, Odysee, and GitHub.

Where do people get crypto news?

The investigation found thatMost members of the crypto community get news and information from social media platforms rather than news sites.73.8% of people get most of the encrypted related information from X, YouTube or Telegram, while news sites lag a lot behind, with only 6.5% of participants using news sites as their primary source of information.

The most popular source of encrypted information and news is X, which 34.4% of participants rely on.Specifically, of the 1,065 participants who primarily used encrypted Twitter, 710 (66.7%) also considered it the primary source of information.

Encryption YouTube ranks second with a market share of 23.4%, surpassing Encryption Telegram.Of the 531 participants using encrypted YouTube as the primary social media, 365 (68.7%) also obtained information from the video sharing platform.

Another 16.0% said they got most of the encrypted information from Telegram, which makes the messaging platform more than twice as popular as news sites.Of the 548 participants who used primarily Telegram to encrypt social media, 312 (56.9%) also consumed information primarily there, which was slightly lower than the overlapping media consumption behavior on encrypted Twitter and YouTube.

Overall, however, over half of the community members on the three platforms tend to get information from the social media they spend the most time, rather than turn to other sources.

Less popular sources of encrypted information are Discord (5.3%), newsletter (3.8%), Reddit (3.3%), podcast (1.6%) and Farcaster (0.8%).Finally, 4.6% said other major sources of encrypted information, such as data analytics websites, personal contacts, 4chan and research providers. It is worth noting that many participants emphasized the use of multiple sources of information rather than relying on specific sources of information.
