Former U.S. President Donald Trump said the United States must top the cryptocurrency industry.

On May 25, Trump announced on Truth Social, a social media platform owned by Trump Media and Technology Group (TMTG):“Our country has to be ahead of the field, without a second place.”

“I’m very positive and open to cryptocurrency companies and everything related to this emerging industry,”He claimed, then targeted the current President Joe Biden, who will compete with him in the 2024 presidential election, with U.S. election day scheduled for November 4.

“On the other hand, the sly Joe Biden, the worst president in our country’s history, hopes it dies slowly and painfully. This will never happen to me!”

He made the remarks before he made a speech at the Liberal National Convention in Washington the same day.

Trump’s recent positive attitude towards cryptocurrencies has raised expectations for its potential victory in the cryptocurrency industry.

According to data from Polymarket, a New York cryptocurrency forecasting platform,Trump has a 56% chance of winning the election, while incumbent President Joe Biden has a 38% chance of winning the election.

Just after Trump announced that his presidential campaign would accept cryptocurrency donations. On May 21, the Trump 2024 campaign said it had launched a fundraising page for eligible people to use Coinbase Commerce products to make cryptocurrency donations.

The website contains the logos of Bitcoin, WTH, DOGE, SHIB, XRP, USDC, SOL and 0x (ZRX).

In addition to Trump’s positive speech on cryptocurrency, he also met with cryptocurrency enthusiasts.

Recently, it has been reported that people who buy Trump’s “Mugshot” irreplaceable tokens (NFTs) have the chance to have dinner with Trump at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago on May 8.

This dinner was part of a deal to buy a digital transaction card that contained a big headshot taken when he surrendered at the Fulton County Jail, Georgia.
